Feb. 1st Peace Vigil

On Tuesday February 1st, 2005 our weekly Peace vigil boasted an estimated 100 participants.  A documentary film crew and WLOS News covered the event.  Below are photos taken during the first few minutes, while the lighting was still adequate.

In the beginning...
Right from the "starting bell", large numbers were assembled...

The number grows...
..and their number grew, as the minutes passed.

Still coming!
The assortment of signs and flags was a sight to behold.

From another angle
From any angle, it was impressive.

The messages are clear.

Faces of Peace
The passion of Peace Activists

Two flags
"Old Glory" and the Veterans For Peace flag:  joined together, for America's future.

The numbers continued to swell and peaked at about 100.  The vigil also featured stirring anti-war readings and songs from poets Kamala Parker and Mendy Knott, and singer/songwriter David Rovics. Remarkably, the three reached the entire crowd without the aid of microphones or amplifiers.
